I could eat this every day:)
Disneyland Competition Feb. 10th-12th

The weekend of the competition was one of the best weekends of my life because I spent three amazing days with my brothers and sisters of the Advanced Drama Dept.

Friday: Checked in to a bomb hotel right by Disneyland and got to room with my lovely girls: Skyar, Alex, Amanda, and Ari and that night we were off the Fullerton College. While everyone auditioned to be in “You Can’t Stop the Beat” Ryan, Patrick, Paul and I ducked out and watched everyone instead. Everyone did so great :)

Saturday: Woke up nice and early to arrive at Fullerton on time for opening ceremonies. Arcadia’s advanced drama dept. performed a twelve minute rendition of “Oklahoma” and we blew MTCA’s pants off. Then many of our talented students competed in soloist events for their age group while four of our tech members competed in costume design. To end our long day of competition we watched Anthony and Amanda perform in “You Can’t Stop The Beat” because they were chosen over hundreds to be part of a small group. To bring our day to a close we all got to ride over to Disneyland to enjoy a few well earned hours of play time.

Sunday: Then it was up early one more time. We arrived at Disneyland bright and early where we were given a choice to participate in either a Disneyland Tech Workshop or a Disneyland Musical Theatre Workshop. Participating in the tech workshop was really something else. We were taken backstage of Disneyland and shown tons of their amazing secrets. We were taken upclose and personal to their amazing floats as well as costumes, props and much much more. After the workshops we were wisked away to California Adventures for the awards ceremony where as a large ensemble we walked away with first place. Two of our talented soloists, Nick and Keith, also walked away with personal trophies, as did our tech kids. After awards were handed out we all spent the rest of our day and night at Disneyland.

This was one of the most amazing weekends I’ve ever experienced and it wouldn’t of been the same if I didn’t spend it with my second family
